FAQs

What is Hats Off for Andrew?
Hats Off is a yearlong project to help keep Andrew’s spirits high during his cancer treatment. Its goal? To send him a ballcap from every U.S. state and Canadian province. If he receives one each week, he will be done with his treatment by the time his collection is complete.

How do I sign up to represent my location?
First, check out the list of available places. If you see yours listed, click it to send an e-mail and sign up. (If your location is already taken, you can still help! E-mail friends and family about Hats Off and encourage them to sign up for their state or province.)

What kind of ballcap should I send?
Please send a “youth” or “small” size ballcap that reflects your state or province in some way. Need some ideas? Consider a cap from a sports team, a local university, a company headquartered in your area, or a landmark or symbol of your state or province.

May I include anything else with my ballcap?
Yes! Andrew’s older brothers, ages 6 and 4, would love to get a surprise from your state or province, too. Need ideas? Consider stickers, pencils, key chains, postcards, stuffed animals, and magnets. Be creative!

Where should I send my ballcap?
When you e-mail to sign up for your location, we’ll let you know where to send your package.

When should I send my ballcap?

Do you cover any costs of the cap or postage?
No. The cost of the cap and postage is part of your gift to Andrew’s family. Please choose a cap and a shipping method that meets your budget.

Andrew has already received a ballcap from my location. Can I still help?
